About Us
The BRAIN Big and Little Buddy program is dedicated to fostering acceptance, inclusivity, and belonging for children of all abilities including autism, down syndrome, spina bifida, and wheelchair users. Through engaging after-school courses, we empower 5th-grade students to develop a deeper understanding of inclusion by exploring concepts of diversity, acceptance, and respect. Our program integrates play-based learning, guided by occupational therapists and preschool educators, to create meaningful peer interactions that build empathy, social connections, and lifelong advocacy for inclusivity

BRAIN's Annual Egg Hunt
Every spring, the BRAIN program hosts its annual Buddy Play Day and Egg Hunt, bringing together children with diverse abilities and support needs for a fun and inclusive community event.
With the support of middle and high school students who serve as Big Buddies, children participate in a variety of play stations, games, sensory-friendly activities, and an egg hunt. Big Buddies provide encouragement, friendship, and individualized support so that every child can participate in a way that is comfortable and meaningful to them.
Since 2024, the dedication of our student volunteers, families, and community members has made this special event possible. Together, we continue to create opportunities where children of all abilities can play, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.
